Writing... or pretending to write

So if you look juuuuuussssttt above this post (and the title of this post) you'll see the title of this blog. Obviously I write things, or pretend to :)

But, I do lots of other things, too. Time consuming things. Things that pull me from writing as much as I'd like to, but, hey, a lot of these extra things pay the bills or feed the family. So I do these things, and I enjoy them!

So, for your enjoyment (or character study or whatever brings you here), these are just some of the things I do! (Things, things, things....)

Wifeing/Mommying. This is my favorite thing, so it's the first thing I'm talking about. I love my husband. He's pretty great, actually. Be jealous if you don't know him. He's an amazing person. Not just because of his job or hobbies, but he's just a great human being. It's hard to find those, so when I did, I considered myself pretty damn lucky. (Yeah yeah, I took a month to get that he was sending me flashing-neon-colored signals... but once I actually got it, I've never looked back.)

My daughter is also the best. I'm pretty sure all mothers think that, but mine is seriously the best. I'm sure they all say that, too. Whatever! She's a sassy little turd, but when she looks up at us through her dripping-mashed-potato-bangs and says "shoshuuuuu Mommy," I'm done. Melted into the floor. Then I pick myself up and hold her at arm's length as I trudge up the stairs to drop her in the bath. (For those of you who don't know my child's toddler-speak, that's "love you.")

Event Planning. It's a beast, but a seriously rewarding one. The tallying of RSVPs and browsing centerpieces on Pinterest and drooling over menu options all come together on event day and it's pretty amazing that I've pulled off something so cool.

Also the fact that I can spend time looking through flowers and lights and food and decorations for work is pretty awesome.

Cooking. I like this. I really like it. The problem is that I don't measure anything and I don't write stuff down. I just keep adding ingredients until it looks appetizing or smells yummy. This bugs the heck out of my husband, because I make a super awesome dinner.... and can never make it again.

Fan Stuffs. All things Middle Earth, Supernatural, Smallville (why isn't this on Netflix yet??????), The Flash, The Vampire Diaries, The 100 (omg so behind though), longtime-sufferer of Sherlock, The Walking Dead (the show, I'm ashamed to admit I've never read them), Breaking Bad, Criminal Minds, Once Upon A Time, Assassin's Creed (I'm awful at literally any other game in the world ever, but I dive off roofs and stab guys in the throat with a hidden blade like nobody's business), Colleen Hoover, Tahereh Mafi, Friends, *fades off, still speaking of FANtastic things*

Random Facts. I look nothing like my 4 siblings. Unwind by Neal Shusterman seriously freaked me out. I hate fish (eating it). Yes, this is an informed opinion, I do not like fish. Will Herondale's death crushed me (Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare). My favorite Disney movie is and always shall be The Lion King. If a dress has pockets, I want it. Calla lilies are my favorite flower. I went to Spain to work and ride horses for a summer (cool, but the trip itself was dreadful). I sneak-listen to country music when my husband isn't around like I'm cheating on a diet. Before I die, I want two sphynx cats named Smeagol and Gollum.
