my week: as foreseen in my coffee grounds (b/c I don't drink loose-leaf tea)

Monday:

Or rather, I enter book giveaways. This week it was A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab (which is out in paperback today!) and An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. And yes, I do realize that by including the links to the giveaway pages that I'm probably lowering my odds of winning, but hey, I'm a nice person and want other people to have a chance, too.

Tuesday:

(image from #2bitTues host @AngDonofrio) This hashtag is a fun way to show off that awesome line that sticks out like a beautiful flower in a barren wasteland of crap in your WIP.

Wednesday:

#1lineWed day! Pretty much the same concept as #2bitTues, but this is hosted by @RWAKissofDeath.

Thursday:

During lunch, I realize that the toddler-free work week is almost over, so I viciously write/edit as much as I can over that hour.

Friday:

Lunch writing doesn't exist. Lunch hour doesn't even exist. I can totally do it at home over the weekend...

Saturday/Sunday:

NOPE.

obligatory new year post

Dear 2016,

I greeted thee in sleep (since I'm really like 104 years old and I fell asleep on the couch by 9:30 on New Year's Eve), but I shall live this year with a working writer's mind (a.k.a. 40-hour work weeks, writing over lunch and after the Toddler goes to bed).

There. I've written a New Year post.

Back to business.

Waiting (im)patiently on responses to my #PitMad 12/4/15 submissions. I counted a minute ago, and it's only been 5 weeks!? Geez, 8-10 weeks is going to take forever.

In the meantime, there have been some major shifts in the series arc, so I'm certainly keeping myself busy. Not just with my own writing/editing, but I'm getting surprisingly savvy at Twitter and have connected with lots of other aspiring authors and we share struggles and successes. It's actually been funnot something I expected to feel about Twitter.
